Frequently Asked Questions

CAD means computer aided design. It is a design which is designed in three dimensions on a computer and that design is processed till a silicon die is made. Then the design is moldedinto metal with the help of silicon die and the jewellery is prepared. In a way, any imagination can be realized in real form with the help of CAD technology.

Any metal jewellery can be made using CAD. But mostly jewellery made of gold, platinum, white gold, silver etc., hence because these metals are used for jewellery.

As per customer requirement, we have hallmarking on all jewellery like 22 KT, 20 KT, 18 KT, 14 KT etc. which is government approved. This clearly shows the authenticity and purity of our jewellery.

22 KT has 91.6% purity of pure gold and the remaining 8.4% consists of silver, zinc, nickel and other alloys. Similarly, 18KT has 75% pure gold and the remaining 25% consists of other metals or alloys.

22 KT gold is soft due to the higher amount of pure gold and 18 KT gold has a slightly lower amount of pure gold than 22 KT, hence it is hard and more durable. Due to its durability, diamond jewellery is made in 18 KT.

Weight of jewellery can be 4-10 grams or even more, weight of any jewellery depends upon its design, purity of metal, weight of gemstones. Hence we can only give tentative estimate of the jewellery in the beginning.

Once the weight is decided, we provide the customer with price range for metals like gold/platinum/silver etc. in different available carat weights ranging from 14K, 18K and 22K.

Yes. You can provide your own gold for your customized jewellery. But for this you will have to follow a different procedure. Firstly, you will have to provide us the bill of the old jewellery purchased at the given address. You can send it to us through any responsible courier service (like DTDC, TRACKON, OVERNITE, Courier Service). After receiving your order, the metal will be tested. Through that test we will get complete information about the purity and weight of the metal etc. Only after the complete information of the metal we will be able to use your old gold. After the order is completed we will calculate the weight and purity of the gold and accordingly the charges will be calculated and provided. However, Bhagya Ratan prefers and strongly suggests our customers to use our own fine quality gold for their custom designs so that the quality standards can be maintained.

If gold is left after making customized jewellery, as per the convenience of the customer and the company, the remaining amount is adjusted in the order amount or can be adjusted in future purchases or as store credit.

Customized jewellery for silver and gold can take up to 7 days and for gold, white gold, silver CAD rendering it can take 15-20 days and for platinum jewellery it can take up to 25 days. Also, any Puja energized service can take additional 1-3 days as per customer requirement.

If the order is completely ready, then it cannot be changed. It just needs to be prepared again. And the making charges for that will be paid by the customer again. But if it is a ring for example and its size needs to be customized, then that can be done, if any additional charges in this process that will be paid by the customer. Also, re-dispatch shipping charges will be applicable. For silver and other metal jewellery, the jewellery cost will be applicable.

Panchdhatu is made by the combination of five metals, Saptadhatu is made by the combination of seven metals and Ashtadhatu is made by the combination of eight metals, and all these metals are natural not artificially created metals. Panchdhatu includes gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead. Saptadhatu includes gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron. Ashtadhatu includes gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron and mercury. All these are natural metals and the above mentioned metals are made using these natural metals.

Special Note: In many places brass is also used which is not a natural metal.

We provide hallmarking only in Gold, Silver and Platinum jewellery certified by Government of India hallmarking center.

The oxidation of metal is called tarnishing. Silver, panchdhatu, saptadhatu and ashtadhatu jewellery get tarnished when the metal surface comes in contact with any kind of oil, sulphur, sweat, makeup, perfumes, moisturizers, deodorants etc. on the body. This is a natural process in which the metal reacts with sulphur-containing pollutants in the environment to form a layer of sulphide on its surface, resulting in discoloration or darkening of the jewellery. The amount of oxidation that occurs on any one piece of jewellery depends on several factors, including how elaborate the jewellery is and the habits and care of the person wearing the jewellery.

As long as the jewellery is hallmarked by a Government of India certified hallmark centre, there is no need to doubt the quality/purity of the metal used.

If the metal in which the gemstone is set gets worn out or the gemstone gets worn out, then the grip of that gemstone becomes weak, due to which the gemstone may become loose and the gemstone may fall from the ring. Apart from this, it also depends entirely on the usage. If you are using gemstone jewelry haphazardly, then there are chances that your jewelry will get damaged easily.

Cleaning jewelry at home is the simplest and most suitable way to keep your jewelry shiny and new. Here are a few things to keep in mind while cleaning and caring for your jewelry :

  • 1. The best way to clean your jewelry is to use warm water, mild dish soap and a soft brush. Avoid harsh compounds like chlorine bleach or ultrasonic cleaners. These solvents can damage gold jewelry. You can also add ammonia or the juice of one lemon to lukewarm water. Leave the piece of jewelry in it for 20 to 30 minutes and when it cools down, rinse it with clean water and dry it. Remember that removing jewelry from very hot water and putting it in very cold water can damage the jewelry, especially gemstone jewelry.
  • 2. For fine jewelry with diamonds, it is best to remove dirt with a soft toothbrush. You can then wash it with a soft cloth using distilled water and dry it.
  • 3. Organic gemstones like pearls or corals should never be stored in plastic zip lock bags. Organic gemstone jewelry needs moisture and if they are packed sealed, the shine and color may fade. It is advisable to wipe it with a clean cloth.
  • 4. Avoid storing in direct sunlight as exposure to excessive light and heat can damage the gemstones.
  • 5. Soap used during bathing or swimming and chlorine used to clean the pool can affect the color and shine of the gemstone.
